Today is my husband's 50th birthday. I used the 'Chalkboard Art' technique to make his card.

Christmas is Coming

Over at A Passion for Papertrey blog the latest challenge is a Christmas one.
I made a little gift box using the PTI pillow box die and made a matching mini card.

PTI Blog Hop - November 2012

 

This month's challenge at PTI is to use "cover art" as your inspiration. I chose the "Great Expectations" cover from Nichole's image for my inspiration.

 

WMS Blog Party - November 2012

The theme for this month's WMS blog hop is GRATITUDE.
I saw a tutorial for an Autumn Wreath here and I really wanted to try it, so I adapted the size to fit the card. I embossed the front panel with a Cuttlebug EP (Pinking Stitch) and the sentiment is from the WMS Say it with Style set.

MIM #90 - Focal Point

This week's MIM is to create a sentiment focal point using stamps and dies. I used a sentiment from Holiday Lights and a variety of dies in order to create the focal point on my card.

PTI Blog Hop - October 2012

This month's challenge for the PTI blog hop is to create a card or tag using non-traditional colours. I chose to work with the above colour combo.
The Mat Stack frame has been stamped in Scarlet Jewel and the button is from my SJ button collection. The 'Christmas Cheer' tag has been stamped in Dark Chocolate.

WMS Blog Party - October 2012

I chose to make a birthday card using the colours black, purple and orange as we do not celebrate
Halloween.
I only have WMS frames and sentiments stamps...no images yet.
The sentiment, from Fancy Phrases, was embossed in white. I used the polka dot background from Off Beat Backgrounds on the orange frame and I stamped the dotted circle frame from Vintage Circles on the inside of the die cut round window.

CFC #73 - For the Girls

This week's challenge at Casual Fridays is to create a Clean And Simple card that celebrates
the women in your life.

Saw a tutorial for this "sun ray" technique and had to try it out. I really enjoyed going through my stash and mixing and matching papers.

World Card Making Day - 2012

It is really great to have a special day to celebrate our wonderful hobby. To celebrate this day, there is a tour around blogland with so many inspirational card makers. The links to the blogs can be found here.

This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to create a project inspired by your blog header.

I used a pumpkin on last week's card so I decided to use the colours from my blog header as this week's inspiration.

PTI Blog Hop - Fabric and Felt Wrap Challenge

I made a Christmas gift bag using non-traditional colours as I used bits and pieces that I had lying around.
I used the Favor It 3 die to cut my bag from dark brown felt. I then used fabric glue to assemble it. Just had to decorate the little bag with a poinsettia...love, love poinsettias. Made a tag using Little Labels to finish it off.

CFC #71 - Autumn

This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to create a CAS project inspired by Autumn.


So glad I could use my favourite pumpkin stamp from Hero Arts for this card.
Although we are in Spring mode in this part of the world, it's always easy to be inspired by Autumn. I love Fall colours and it just happens to be my favourite season.

CFC #69 and Retro Sketches #28

This week's challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to create a CAS project using embossing. Dry, heat or a combination of the two. I chose to use a combination of both. I used a 'pinstripe' embossing folder for the embossing on the side panel and I heat embossed the sentiment.
I really love this week's sketch at Retro Sketches and so I decided to join in the fun here too!
My card was totally inspired by the card on this post by Maile Belles.

We had such an exciting week with unexpected snowfalls throughout the country. I only got to experience a few flurries that sadly didn't last too long.

I'm already looking forward to warmer weather and just had to use my "new to me" Flipping Out dies which arrived with my latest PTI order. I'm entering this card in A Passion for Papertrey's latest challenge.

Stamp-a-faire 2012

I have really been looking forward to this day. Unfortunately I don't have any stamping buddies to meet with so I will be working alone but enjoying all the fun online. It would be fun to try and Skype some online buddies though. Wishing all Stamp-a-faire participants a wonderful day.

PTI Princesses Challenge - Embossing

Just going to get straight to the point, LOL!
The challenge is to add an embossed panel on your card and try to use mostly white.
My mojo has been missing most of the year so it was good to blog again. Hope you play along I would love to see your take on this challenge.

PTI Blog Hop - May 2012

I don't have a brighter green CS in my stash so I went with Spring Moss instead. I used stamps from PTI's Damask Designs and the checked BG stamp is from Waltzingmouse Stamps. The dies I used are Take Three and Pinking shears border die. The technique I used was "Decreasing Apertures" - MIM #26. My inspiration came from this card.
