Starting to feel like Christmas

Made this little gift box. Saw this idea on Becky Oehler's blog. The poinsettia idea I saw on Francine Clouden's blog. Put this together pretty quickly. Not yet sure what I'm going to put in it. Thinking of making a few and using them as place settings on the Christmas dinner table. Each person can have their own little gift box with ??? inside. Any suggestions?

I just love these angels that I bought at a craft market last week. They matched the colours of my countdown calendar so well, I had to have them. This makes a pretty display in my lounge.

PTI Blog Hop

On the 25th of every month, Papertrey Ink has a blog hop. This is the first time I will be participating in this blog hop.

I made flowers using two different techniques.
The first idea I got was from Hero Arts. You stamp an image onto a clear cold laminate sheet with StazOn ink. Next you remove the paper backing and place a piece of patterned paper (face down) onto the sticky piece. Rub to remove any bubbles. Then place this into a container with enough water to cover the image. Allow it to sit for a few minutes to soften the paper. Then rub the paper off the back of the piece. Only the ink colour remains when all the white paper has been removed.

The second flower was made using a layering technique. I cut five circles of varying sizes. Crunched them and distressed the edges. Put them together with glue dots and finished off with a button and thread.

Saturday Sketch Stocking Stuffer

Lauren challenged us to use her stocking stuffer template for this week's sketch. This is what I did with it. Front and back of stocking. Then machine stitched around toe and heel patches and put the box together.

Added a tag and some ribbon to finish it off. Voila! Will be making a few more of these. Such a lovely way to present a person with a gift.

Inspiration to Journal

I have always found it difficult to journal on my layouts. I came across this FREE class with Jessica Sprague and am so excited to be given this opportunity to develop a journaling system.

Some creative bits

Have not made anything new for a few days but wanted to post pictures of some of my recent projects.

Saw this gorgeous Christmas Countdown Calendar on http://www.pickledpaperdesigns.blogspot.com/ and had to try it. Would like to make another one in more traditional christmas colours.

This criss cross box is so easy to make. The template for this box can be found here
